On Using AI

When I started blogging in May of this year, I assumed it will be easier. I had ChatGPT on my side. I do! But, for those that rely on generative AI to do the work. For me, not so much.

So far in my blogging journey, I have used it like a friend. Bouncing ideas, reading for typos, or to polish my writing. In my PhD research, I used it to make sure my results were formatted according to the APA guidelines and didn’t have grammatical errors or typos. Or, to make sure my writing sounded academic and not too repetitive. In my daily routine, I ask it to help me polish my resume. Or, bounce of potential business ideas. Because even teenagers are using it to already build businesses and make millions, right? You may have seen those adds too.

The reality is very different. You cannot run off on AI without human input. Otherwise, it will have you thinking there are aliens on Mars that NASA hasn’t found because of shortsighted technological progress on planet Earth.

This is for those claiming to help people use AI. You can’t build a palace on a see saw. It won’t stand. Those who think they are far behind and are not doing as much as those using AI – you may be partially right. Ha! The key is to know how to use it and when to. AI was made for us to do whatever we do, but better.

If you are a person or a business that needs help with research methods design, data analysis, or writing then get in touch. My experience working with and without generative AI speaks to both ends of the rainbow.
